I don't take risks at Lucca Comics and Games
Events and activities intended for the general public and comics' fans from 1 to 5 November

Risk reduction is a serious topic, but it can also be approached with engaging and even fun tools and languages: such as a comic strip to introduce boys and girls to good civil protection practices, a virtual reality experience to witness the effects of an earthquake or a quiz game on risk reduction topics.
From today until Sunday 5 November, the I don't take risks campaign is at Lucca Comics & Games, a major international comics fair, in order to bring the general public closer to the themes of prevention and good civil protection practices with engaging activities spread throughout the city.
In the inner spaces of the Real Collegio, visitors can experience immersive technology with the "Sisma VR" project by LARES Italia and the Civil Protection Department, to experience the effects of an earthquake and understand the right behaviour to adopt during an earthquake.
In the square in front of the Real Collegio, the volunteers of the Civil Protection of the Tuscany region have installed an "I don't take risks" information point, where even cosplayers can learn how to actively contribute to risk reduction with their daily decisions.
Finally, in Piazza San Giovanni, in the space dedicated to publishers, there is a stand for "L'attimo decisivo", a project realised by the Civil Protection Department as part of the I don't take risks campaign and promoted by the Minister for Civil Protection and Sea Policies, in partnership with the Ministry of Education and Merit.
The comic strip follows the story of Samira, Carlo, Katja and Paolo, four young people who face the consequences of natural disasters such as floods, earthquakes, forest fires and tsunamis by making decisive choices to save themselves and others.
In addition, "L'attimo decisivo" is linked to numerous events that will animate the upcoming days of Lucca Comics.
On Thursday, 2 November at 11:30 am, at the Sala Tobino of the Ducal Palace, the comic strip will be officially presented in the presence of the local institutions, the Deputy Head of Department, Titti Postiglione, the director of the regional Civil Protection structure, Bernardo Mazzanti, and the artist of the comic strip, Mattia Surroz. In the room, there will also be three classes from the "Carlo Piaggia" Comprehensive Institute of Capannori, representing all the students at Italy's secondary schools who received the comic strip in October and who explored civil protection topics in class on the International Day for Disaster Risk Reduction.
On the morning of November 3rd, the stories of Samira, Carlo, Katja and Paolo will be the topic of a quiz challenge between two secondary school classes, focusing on good civil protection practices that will take place in the Church of Santi Giovanni e Reparata.
Finally, in the afternoon of Friday 3rd and Saturday 4th November, at the stand of "L'attimo decisivo", there will be the long-awaited event with the two authors, cartoonist Mattia Surroz and screenwriter Roberto Gagnor, who will allow fans and visitors to take home their autographed copy of the comic strip
